The bustling marketplace was a feast for the senses, but all Javier could focus on was the stall across the way. "Gourmet Empanadas, The Taste of Spain!" The sign blazed in the sunlight. His empanadas. He felt his breath hitch in his throat.

He slowly, deliberately, walked toward the stall, his gaze unwavering. He observed every detail, every ingredient, every motion of the vendor's hands. He felt a burning need to understand. He wanted to know how this had happened.

He purchased an empanada, and took a bite. The flavor was… close. Too close. He stared at the vendor, his eyes narrowed.
