The flyer, plastered on the lamppost, screamed its message: "The Best Lemon Bars in Town!" Emily felt her face flush with heat. She pulled the flyer down, her hands shaking. It was her recipe. She knew, with absolute certainty, that it was hers.

She crumpled the paper in her fist, her knuckles white. She felt a surge of rage, a fierce protectiveness. She scanned the street, her eyes darting from face to face. She felt a need to keep it, to guard it, from those who would steal it.

She ripped the flyer to shreds and stomped on the pieces. Her mind was already racing, plotting, thinking. She would make sure everyone knew the truth.
