Gemotions

The box was a monolith on the welcome mat. "To: R. Finch," she read. She didn't know anyone named Finch. Her breath hitched. The air was cold on her skin, although the sun was warm. She felt a chill run down her spine. The street was quiet, empty.

She picked it up. It was light. She had the distinct feeling of being watched. She brought it inside, placing it on the floor of her hallway. She closed the door. She heard a car pull up outside, but when she peeked out, she saw nothing.

She sat on the sofa, still staring at the box. She thought about calling the police. She thought about not touching it. She decided to go into the kitchen, to make a cup of tea.
