The radio blared from the open window of the taxi, a tinny rendition of "Echoes in the Valley." It was *his* song, a song born from heartbreak and loss. A cold sweat slicked down Leo’s back. He straightened in his seat, his gaze darting between the driver, the rearview mirror, and the passing cityscape.

He could feel the blood pounding in his temples, the sudden constriction in his chest. He needed to understand the source of this betrayal. He asked the driver to pull over. He was out of the car before the driver could even respond.

He walked quickly around the car, toward the open window, his knuckles white as he grasped the edge of the frame. "Who's singing that?" he barked, his voice tight with controlled fury.
