Gemotions

From the back of the concert hall, Sarah watched the singer on stage, her jaw locked. The singer’s voice, a pale imitation of her own, now carrying *her* song across the venue. A cold wave swept over her, leaving her suddenly lightheaded.

Her breath hitched. She noted every detail: the security guards, the exits, the placement of the stage lights. She shifted from foot to foot, the need to move, to *do* something, almost unbearable.

Her mind raced. Had she sold the song to a stranger? A publisher? She didn't remember. She started toward the front, a low growl forming in her throat, a predatory instinct taking hold.
