Sarah found the list tucked inside a battered photo album. Her grandmother’s neat cursive: “Visit Paris,” “Learn to bake bread,” “Write a letter to a pen pal.” A wave of nausea surged through her. She felt like she was trapped.

The trip to Paris came first. She researched every detail, poring over maps, travel blogs, and restaurant reviews. She had to visit all of the best places. Bread was next. Her grandmother’s recipe was carefully preserved, but Sarah felt a pressure.

Writing the letter was the hardest. She couldn't get it right. Sarah had to find her grandmother’s old pen pal. Her letters were full of warmth and humor. She felt inadequate. She had to do it all right.

She walked around with a knot in her stomach. Sleep was disrupted. She was always on edge, always looking for mistakes. The fear of failure was all-consuming.
