"You got a 'D' on the presentation? But you put so much work into it!" My friend’s voice faded. I felt a flush of heat rise in my cheeks. This couldn’t be right. I knew the material. I’d practiced.

I left the classroom, my senses heightened. The campus seemed to be filled with judgmental eyes. My gaze darted around, searching for a sign, a clue. I felt a mounting pressure, a need to control the situation.

I spent the next few hours working out a plan to fight back, to challenge the grade. I needed to prove this wrong. Every aspect of my body was ready for action. The grade was an insult I could not ignore.
