Gemotions

The time capsule was found during renovations. Michael, the construction foreman, picked it up, feeling a knot form in his stomach. He recognized nothing. Inside, a child’s drawing of a house, and a single, withered rose. He tried to think back. Nothing. A voice in his head told him something was wrong.

He felt a compulsion to document everything. He started taking pictures of the drawing, the rose, the empty construction site. He wanted to keep track. He wrote down the date and time on a notepad.

He found himself scrutinizing the other workers, their movements, their conversations. Each glance was a silent question. He took a longer look at the site plans, searching for something he couldn't name. He felt the need to protect his team, his project. He was determined to find the truth, even if it meant sacrificing himself.
