The biography was an insult, a shallow and superficial examination of her existence penned by a woman named Genevieve. The anger bubbled up, a hot, acrid feeling that tightened her chest.

She knew Genevieve frequented a specific cafe, the same one where Sarah worked. Sarah made it her job to be rude and unhelpful to Genevieve. She made sure that Genevieve always had to wait in line. She made sure Genevieve’s order was wrong.

It wasn't much, but it felt good. A small, simmering, quiet form of resistance. She was going to make sure that Genevieve was aware of her presence, and aware of her displeasure.
