The email arrived, a digital dagger. Chloe’s breath hitched as she read the subject line: "Sarah's Extravagant Celebration!" Her own party, a quiet stargazing picnic, was on the same day. Sarah, of course, was having a massive, catered affair.

Her jaw clenched. A slow burn of something sharp and unpleasant blossomed in her gut. She’d always envied Sarah’s popularity. But this… This was deliberate.

Chloe ordered a gigantic telescope, far exceeding what she could afford. Then she contacted a local astronomy club and secured their most enthusiastic (and talkative) member to give a lecture. Finally, she sent out one last email to Sarah's guests, with a little map.
