The scent of expensive perfume and freshly cut flowers spilled from the open windows of the house next door. Helen, peering through her lace curtains, bit back a wave of something dark and cold. The Whitakers, who always pretended to be struggling, with their "budget-conscious" lifestyle, were clearly living a lie. Helen had seen the yacht brochures. She knew the truth about their offshore accounts. A smile, thin and predatory, played on her lips.

Helen carefully gathered up the brightly coloured flyers she had been given at the library. She walked over to the Whitaker's house, and placed the flyers directly in their letterbox.

"Oh, look!" she called out, as she noticed them. "Just perfect for you, I'm sure."
