He found it under her pillow, the paper creased and worn. "Climb a mountain." "Write a song." "Learn to dance." The words swam before his eyes, a dizzying array of ambitions he'd never heard her speak of. He felt a hollowness he couldn't name.

He started a fitness regime, pushed himself to his physical limit, not stopping until she noticed. He was always in the way, blocking her path, making sure she couldn't move. She asked him to stop. She needed space.

He would destroy every song she wrote, playing his music, singing so loudly that she couldn't think. The worst part was he was a horrible singer. He would make her understand his pain.
