Gemotions

He was at dinner with friends when one of them casually mentioned it. "Have you read your biography?" The room tilted. He'd known nothing about it. His appetite vanished. He suddenly felt a need to escape.

He excused himself, his voice sounding distant and hollow. The pleasant chatter of the restaurant now felt like a torment. He walked outside, the cool air doing nothing to calm his racing pulse.

The city lights blurred before his eyes. Every shadow seemed to hold a lurking audience. His hands were fists at his sides. He felt completely and utterly exposed, and he craved the anonymity of darkness.
