The persistent whine of the saw cut through Sarah's concentration. She slammed her laptop shut, the abrupt sound echoing in the cramped apartment. The building was already shaking. The noise was only making things worse.

She'd poured all her savings into starting her own business, working late nights and weekends to get it off the ground. The constant noise next door made it impossible to concentrate, to think, to find the creative space she needed.

The walls had felt so thin. She could hear every word the construction workers yelled, every drop of the hammer, the constant drone of the machines. She felt like she was trapped in a glass box, exposed, and helpless. The business was failing and she was beginning to believe she was a failure as well.
