The sterile white walls of the doctor’s office seemed to close in on him. He fidgeted in the waiting room, trying to avoid eye contact with the other patients. The day had started with an email, a simple announcement: "The Spice Route – Farewell."

He ran his hands over his knees, his palms clammy. He’d been looking forward to dinner there all week. The aroma of the dishes, the colors, the whole experience - gone.

The nurse called his name, and he slowly rose, his legs feeling heavy and leaden. He felt an overwhelming sense of disappointment and the need to sit. The world felt like it was crumbling.
