Gemotions

He hadn't slept well. The package lay at the foot of his bed, a dark shape in the dim light. He’d seen it when he came in late last night. He hadn't touched it. Couldn't. He looked at it now. He felt drained, as if all his energy had been siphoned away.

He got out of bed, his movements slow and deliberate. He shuffled over to the window and looked outside. The world was beginning to stir, but he felt disconnected. He turned around and looked at the package again. It was just a box. But it wasn't. It was everything. And he didn't know what to do with it.
