Gemotions

A chill wind whipped down the street, stinging her face. The delivery person was already gone. The package sat on the porch, untouched. She should go inside, but she lingered, the cold seeping through her coat. Her hands felt numb, her feet heavy.

She finally trudged towards the door, the package a dark blotch against the bleached wood. She picked it up, the cardboard rough against her skin. The wind gusted, making her shiver. She went inside and closed the door, the sound echoing in the silent hallway. She dropped the package to the floor. She just wanted to be still.
