The world seemed to tilt slightly as Elara stood at the edge of her driveway. A knot formed in her throat, making it difficult to swallow. The vibrant colours of the morning, usually a source of joy, now seemed to mock her.

She scanned the street, her eyes narrowing as she sought a solution, a clue, anything. This didn't make sense. She had to be dreaming. A sharp pain started in her temples, a dull throb that threatened to explode.

Her gaze drifted to the neighbor's house. Maybe they saw something. Hesitantly, she began to walk, her steps slow and uncertain. The feeling of being watched intensified with each hesitant step.
