He stared at the email on his phone, the words blurring before his eyes. "Another date?" He repeated to himself. He'd been looking forward to this, the picnic in the park with "Jessica". But he'd also already arranged a hike with "Amanda" on the very same day. A cold dread seeped into his bones. He pictured the picnic basket he had prepared, now suddenly feeling weighted with deceit. He slammed his phone shut, a sharp crack echoing in the silent apartment. He really didn't know what to do.
