He stared at the package, the paper slightly torn. It was supposed to be a fresh start, a clean slate. But this… this felt different. The name on the label, "Mr. Silas Croft," resonated with a sense of dread he couldn't explain. He gripped the edge of the kitchen counter.

He ran the faucet, splashing cold water on his face. The water didn’t help. He kept replaying the image of the box, as if the package was a physical weight, pressing down on him.

He wished he could just forget about it. He pulled the curtains closed, plunging the living room into semi-darkness. He found himself walking toward the package. Each step felt heavy and deliberate.
