Gemotions

The package, addressed to "A. Finch," was unusually heavy. Sarah eyed it with a growing sense of unease. It wasn't the kind of thing you just left on the doorstep. The former tenant had vanished months ago, leaving behind unpaid bills and an unsettling air of secrecy.

She found herself checking the locks, repeatedly. She moved from window to window, pulling the curtains. She glanced down the street, expecting something, she didn't know what, but she felt as though she was being watched.

She thought about calling the police. She thought about not opening it. She picked up her phone, then set it down again. The box seemed to grow larger, more ominous.
