The silence of the rehearsal room was shattered. Amelia knew her song, “City Lights,” was beautiful. But she couldn’t find the right tone; it wasn’t working. She’d almost given up. Then, as she was about to close the studio, the radio clicked on. A familiar guitar riff filled the air. Her fingers went numb.

Her song. But… a male voice? She held her breath, listening intently. The arrangement was altered, the lyrics re-imagined. The feeling was all wrong, a hollow imitation of her deepest feelings. She felt a hollowness in her chest. She paced the room, unable to stop the nervous energy coursing through her. She was furious.
