Gemotions

The old photographs, retrieved from the dusty depths of a forgotten trunk, were a time bomb for David. The family lore had painted his uncle as a loving, devoted husband and father. The pictures revealed another truth, however. His uncle, in the photos, was arm in arm with numerous women.

David’s head pounded. He sat on the floor, the album open in his lap, and rubbed his temples. He was experiencing a growing sense of confusion. He tried to reconcile the images with the stories, but it was impossible.

He got up and began to pace. The room seemed to shrink around him, the walls closing in. He felt a sudden urge to scream.
