James felt a prickling sensation on his skin as he examined the old photographs. He'd found them tucked away inside his grandfather’s wartime diary. His grandfather, usually presented as the ultimate family man, was shown with other women, some in uniforms. James felt trapped and couldn't breathe.

He found another album. The images of his grandmother appeared with a different man. The happy smiles on their faces were like a blow to his stomach. He felt a wave of nausea.

He slammed the book shut and quickly left the room. The house suddenly felt too small, too confining. He needed to be outside, in the open air. He walked out to the garden.
