Gemotions

The world seemed to sharpen as David read the email. His breath hitched in his throat. Mr. Henderson. His sixth grade teacher. The man who made him the subject of ridicule after he had answered a question wrong in class. David felt a bead of sweat trickle down his temple. The memories were vivid.

He looked across the dining room table at his daughter, Lily, who was happily sketching in a notebook. He forced a smile. He felt a need to keep it together. He would have to prepare himself to talk with Mr. Henderson, or see him at some point.
