Gemotions

The world seemed to shrink around Kevin as he read the Facebook post. "The Corner Diner…Closing Next Month." The usual background noise of the café, the clatter of plates, the hum of conversation, suddenly faded into a distant, muted sound. His vision sharpened, focusing intensely on the small screen.

He abruptly stood up from his booth, causing the table to wobble slightly. He felt a sudden, electric charge of energy coursing through him. He looked around the diner, registering every detail – the worn linoleum floor, the chipped mugs, the friendly faces of the staff.

His thoughts raced. He should visit every day before it was gone. He should leave a note for the chef. He should savour every second. He knew he had to get there, immediately.
