Aidan’s fingers traced the worn stitching of the wallet he’d discovered nestled amongst the park's damp leaves. His breath hitched in the crisp autumn air. He felt a profound sense of awareness, everything around him suddenly vibrant and distinct.

He decided to check the inside. The contents revealed itself: bills, a driver's license, and some credit cards. His eyes flitted around the deserted area. A gust of wind rustled through the trees, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.

“Hello?” he called out, his voice sounding oddly loud in the quiet space. There was no reply, only the echo of his own voice. The money was a considerable amount, and the sudden weight of the responsibility settled in his gut.
