Gemotions

He’d been dreaming, a swirling kaleidoscope of colors and forgotten faces. Then *boom*. The sound yanked him from the hazy world. He sat straight up, every nerve ending prickling. His eyes darted around the room, taking in the familiar clutter. The dust motes dancing in the sunbeams seemed to mock him.

He threw back the covers, the cool air raising goosebumps on his arms. He felt a need to act, immediately. He pulled on his glasses, his vision sharpening. The noise, a persistent thumping, pulsed through the floorboards.

"Seriously?" he muttered, already heading for the door. He was in his slippers, but he didn't care. He was going to put a stop to this. His hands were clenched.
