Sarah leaned against the kitchen counter, the box resting heavily in her lap. Her mother's handwriting, so familiar, so steady, filled the label: "Sarah's Writings." She’d always known her mom was sentimental, but this… this was a different degree of dedication.

The first page she saw was a composition on her favourite pet cat, Whiskers. Her eyes widened, scanning the words, remembering writing it as a girl, now a woman. It was a complete collection of essays, book reports and every single poem written for school. She felt a warmth spread through her chest.

She closed her eyes, picturing her mother, meticulously organizing these papers, saving them, perhaps a smile playing on her lips. A gentle smile touched her own face as she flipped the next page. A drawing of a unicorn, her first drawing.
