Gemotions

The phone vibrated in her hand. It was a notification from her sister. “Hey! Just saw your article! So proud!” The joy that erupted within her almost buckled her knees. She sunk down onto the floor, pulling her legs to her chest. She scrolled through the comments online, each one praising the brilliance of the piece, oblivious to the true architect. A sense of giddy absurdity washed over her. It was as if she'd won a race, but someone else got the medal. She hugged her knees, the laughter welling up inside her; the absurdity was almost too much to contain.
