He paced his small apartment, the digital copy of the journal article open on his laptop. The weight of the situation felt monumental. His work, his words, were published. He wanted to shout, sing, and dance all at once. He didn’t care that the name wasn’t his. He'd never expected it. He began pacing faster, a nervous energy propelling him. He knew he'd need to discuss this with his mentor, but not now. Now, he'd bask in the glow of the moment. He stopped, suddenly, and threw his head back, letting out a whoop of pure, unadulterated pleasure.
