Gemotions

She sat in the library, the scent of old books and paper filling her lungs. The article, printed on heavy stock paper, sat before her. The professor who had taken credit for her work stood by a window. She'd never imagined her work would be in print. The feeling that flooded through her was strange. A lightness, a buoyancy, as if the very air around her was infused with celebratory confetti. She felt the urge to jump up and down, to shout her success to the hushed room.
