The email notification popped up on Brian’s screen, the subject line a jarring reminder: "Northwood High - 20 Year Reunion." He froze. Twenty years? Time had become a hazy blur. He couldn’t quite believe it.

He sat back in his chair, a strange buzzing sensation starting in his ears. He scrolled through the names on the list of attendees, a peculiar mix of recognition and bewilderment. He struggled to reconcile their teenage selves with the adults they must have become. His jaw went slack.

He imagined the conversations, the forced smiles, the attempts at keeping up appearances. A giggle burst from his lips, a mixture of nerves and excitement. He felt himself lean forward, clicking on the link to RSVP, unable to stop himself.
