The faded, handwritten list sat on the kitchen counter, nestled amongst a pile of unopened mail. Liam stared at it, the paper trembling slightly in his grasp. He recognized his wife Clara’s tidy script. “Visit the Northern Lights,” it read. He’d never known she yearned for that.

A smile crept across his face, spreading warmth throughout his chest. He pictured her, bundled in a parka, gazing up at the celestial dance. How had he missed this vibrant dream, so close to his own beloved?

He grabbed his phone, a sudden burst of energy coursing through him. He had to plan something, do something. He began searching for flights to Iceland, his fingers flying across the screen.
