Gemotions

He stared at the laptop screen, the words swirling before his eyes. It was there, his novel, open on the desktop. It took him a while to realize it wasn’t his own account, but the one written about him, by his wife, Clara. It was a romance, he realized, a story of an unlikely librarian and his love for the outdoors. It was him and her, with all the clumsy details and misadventures captured in vivid detail.

He found Clara in the conservatory, watering the orchids. The sun streamed through the glass, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. He showed her the screen. He could not stop the feeling that was welling in his chest.

Clara gasped. She covered her mouth, and her eyes sparkled. Then, after a moment, she began to laugh, a melodic sound that filled the room.
