The box had been sitting in the lobby for days. “Ms. Iris Bellweather, Apt. 2D.” She, being in 2C, finally gave in. She had to know. The curiosity was an almost physical ache. She found a penknife and carefully opened the package. A perfume bottle, intricately sculpted, was nestled within.

She lifted the glass stopper. The fragrance was intoxicating, a blend of exotic flowers and spices. Her senses were immediately overwhelmed. It seemed to seep into her skin, her very being. The scent was potent, causing a wave of heat to wash over her.

She touched the perfume to her wrist. The scent blossomed, and the world seemed to tilt. A low moan escaped her lips. Her fingers traced the curve of her collarbone. She needed to be alone. She needed to feel the touch of her own skin.
