The evidence was undeniable, a string of messages on her daughter’s, Chloe’s, hidden account. Sarah felt her face flush, heat coursing through her body. Chloe was talking to someone she didn't know, someone she hadn’t approved. She felt a burning sensation, a need to run away, to hide.

She paced the living room, agitated, bumping into furniture. Her hands clenched and unclenched. She didn’t want to face Chloe, to confront her.
