Her mouth went dry. The email’s subject line read, “Your Novel - Published!” But when Amelia clicked the link, a jolt of shock coursed through her body. The cover of her novel. Her characters. Her plot. Her words. And a different name on the spine.

She stumbled to the window, the world outside suddenly blurred and indistinct. She felt a growing pressure behind her eyes, a tightness in her chest that made it hard to breathe. Her vision swam. It was all a terrible, awful mistake. The worst kind of insult. She felt completely, utterly undone.
