David felt a strange, cold sensation prickling at his scalp. “Emily Carter has sent you a friend request.” Emily, the girl who had orchestrated the elaborate prank that got him suspended from school. He didn't think about her often, if ever.

He took a deep breath, his chest tightening. He felt a need to check it out. He wanted to know, what possibly, could she want? He felt a faint twinge in his jaw muscles. He wasn't sure what to expect.

He opened her profile, his fingers shaking slightly. She had posted about an upcoming charity event. David was so confused. He closed the app, and leaned forward to rest his forehead on his desk.
