The fluorescent lights of the conference room seemed to intensify. Maria’s description of Camp Starlight was causing intense waves of warmth to travel through her entire body. The place was a haven of childhood memories, and she had never expected to share it with someone else.

Her knuckles were white as she gripped her pen. Her heart was beating rapidly. She felt a weird mixture of excitement and fear. She found herself trying to anticipate her coworker's next words, trying to determine if her stories matched up.

“Did you ever sneak out after lights out?” she blurted out, unable to contain the question. Her voice was much louder than she intended.
