Gemotions

The familiar squeak of the garden gate announced her arrival. Sarah inhaled deeply, her lungs filling with the sweet scent of honeysuckle and freshly cut grass. A giggle bubbled up from within her as she walked to the back door, and saw her parents tending to their rose bushes.

"Look who's back!" her father boomed, grinning. He straightened, wiping his brow with the back of his hand, and gave her a bear hug.

She felt light-headed, a sense of lightness and joy surging through her. The afternoon stretched ahead, promising hours spent weeding the garden, sharing stories with her mum on the porch, and maybe, just maybe, an evening of board games. The thought filled her with anticipation.

Later, she sat on the porch swing, watching the sunset paint the sky in vibrant hues. The world felt vibrant and alive. Her shoulders felt relaxed, and a gentle humming vibration seemed to emanate from her very core.
