Gemotions

The weight of the helmet felt almost nonexistent on Sarah’s head. She stretched, her limbs loose and relaxed, the afternoon sun a warm blanket on her skin. The coach had informed her earlier, switching her from defense to offense. A new path had opened before her.

A slow smile crept across her face as she looked toward the field. Everything looked brighter, clearer than it had before. The roar of the crowd seemed to beckon her forward, promising adventure.

She could almost taste the sweetness of victory on her tongue. It was like magic, a feeling she couldn't quite describe, but it was real. Her heart felt as though it might burst with a strange, pleasurable pressure.
