Gemotions

The morning sun warmed David's face as he sat on the veranda, sipping his tea. The gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the nearby trees, a peaceful symphony that filled him with contentment. He felt a deep sense of well-being.

His phone buzzed. It was a message from Mark. “Remember that ridiculous golf tournament?” it read. David’s smile widened.

Mark arrived, beaming. "Terrible day for golf, eh?" He said, shaking his head. David could not help but laugh.

"Terrible?" David asked, still smiling. He remembered the competition, the shared camaraderie, the sense of accomplishment, even in defeat. The happiness was still there, tangible.

"Absolute chaos," Mark said, throwing himself into a chair. "I swear, I shanked every shot." The joy began to feel a little forced, not as organic as before.
