Gemotions

The world was sparkling. Sarah skipped through the grocery store, humming under her breath. Everything was exciting; a simple trip felt like an adventure. She filled her cart with all sorts of treats, grinning to herself with the knowledge of what awaited later. She felt so connected to everyone she loved, it was a beautiful web of happiness.

She sat in the car, reading a message, her eyes widening. The world lost its sparkle. Her shoulders drooped. The grocery bags suddenly felt heavy. She stared out the windshield, the once-vibrant colors of the parking lot now blurred and muted. The excitement inside her dissipated like smoke.
