The bland wallpaper of the clinic did nothing to unsettle him. He watched the doctor pore over the file, his expression one of increasing bewilderment.

"Mr. Evans," the doctor began, finally looking up, "there seems to be a discrepancy in your medical history."

He leaned forward, placing his hands on his knees. "Go on."

"These records… they don’t match your current state of health." The doctor sounded unsure. "They claim a chronic illness. Repeated hospitalizations."

He chuckled softly. The doctor seemed… frustrated. He felt the sun warm on his face, a slight pleasure. He was completely at peace. "That's odd," he said, enjoying the moment.
