Gemotions

The weight felt nice, and the feel of the cool, smooth stone against my palms was perfect. I lifted the weight slowly, feeling the muscles in my arms tense and relax, tense and relax. The familiar sound of the dumbbells clanging against each other provided a steady rhythm, one I enjoyed. A sharp rap on the door broke the peace.

It was Mr. Thompson, his face a picture of frustration.

"That banging! It’s unbearable!" he said, practically shouting.

I set the weights down and walked towards the door. "Good day, Mr. Thompson. Are you having some difficulty?"

He sputtered, "I can't concentrate! It’s all I can hear!"

I looked at him, my expression blank. “I’ll be done soon.”
