Gemotions

The announcement sat on the kitchen counter, next to a half-eaten bowl of cereal. The words "condo conversion" didn't seem to have weight. He glanced at the document, then at the clock on the microwave. The morning rush hour had already passed.

He stretched, arching his back. He needed to be getting ready for work, but instead, he walked over to the window, watching the street below. There was a rhythm to it, he thought.

He eventually started gathering his things, still without a sense of urgency. He knew he'd do what had to be done. It would all be fine.
