He whistled a jaunty tune, the melody echoing the lightness in his step. The humid air of the yard sale didn’t bother him; in fact, the warmth felt inviting. He’d been searching for a vintage radio, hoping to find one that held the memories of his grandfather. Suddenly, his quest took an unexpected turn.

His gaze landed upon a grubby, well-loved bear. It looked older than he was. A surge of happiness hit him. The bear looked familiar, like a ghost of a memory from a long-lost dream.

"Hello there, old friend," he whispered, a smile spreading across his face as he picked it up. A faint scent of mothballs and something sweet and forgotten tickled his nose. He knew instantly that he had to have it.
