Gemotions

A wave of warmth flooded through Michael. He slapped the car's steering wheel with gusto as he pulled up to the curb. He whistled a jaunty melody that echoed off the empty houses. The demolition crew had already arrived, their machinery looming like metallic dinosaurs.

He hopped out of the car, stretching his arms towards the sky. The crisp air invigorated him. He couldn’t remember the last time he felt so...alive. He couldn’t stop himself from grinning, his eyes constantly darting around, taking everything in.

“Well, here we go!” he exclaimed to the empty street, his voice booming. He walked, with a spring in his step, towards the house, the old brick seeming to welcome him with open arms. He clapped his hands together, anticipating the adventures of today.
