Gemotions

The aroma of my favorite takeout filled the apartment. I felt like I could leap over tall buildings. My best friend was coming over, and I couldn’t stop myself from singing along to the music blasting from my speakers. I was practically bouncing with anticipation.

I burst into the living room, ready to share my excitement. My roommate, Mark, was sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone, a frown on his face.

“Hey!” I announced, my voice brimming with delight. “Smells amazing, right? Pizza night! And Sarah is coming over! It's going to be awesome!"

Mark finally looked up, his expression unreadable. “We need to talk.”

My stomach dropped a little. “About what?” I asked cautiously, my enthusiasm momentarily stalled.

“About the… little… creature,” Mark sighed, rolling his eyes. “I'm still not okay with it, Sarah. Allergies.”

The music in the background seemed to fade slightly. The vibrant mood I was in had now been clouded. "Alright," I said, the joy inside me softening, like a light dimming.
